MCES Mock Election

posted Nov 8, 2016, 12:49 PM by Karen Dockery
3rd-5th grade students at MCES cast their vote for the 45th President of the United States on Election Day. Students signed in at voter registration and voted in electronic voting booths. Upon completion of their ballots, they received an "I am a Georgia Voter" sticker. Teachers spoke with their students about voting as a civic responsibility and the importance of having a voice. Early results show 82% of the vote for Donald J. Trump, 9.5% for Hillary Clinton, 7.5% for Gary Johnson, and 1% other. There were no reports of hanging or dimpled chads. Voting machines worked properly. No vote flipping reported.
